Hand turned shaving brush with stand. Made from a beautiful piece of Cocobolo Rosewood.
The Hand turned shaving brush with stand (24mm at the base) is made from Silvertip badger hair harvested from Badger pelt. It has been turned on a lathe and then carefully sanded down to 12,000 grit and finished with CA (super glue), which provides a very glossy and durable finish. It is the only finish that will hold up to using in water every day. A silvertip brush is a bit softer than a normal badger brush and the bristles creates a great lather. Badger Hair has been used for centuries to make the best shaving brushes. Badger hair absorbs water and is the standard for applying the most comfortable, moist and penetrating lather.
The stand of Hand turned shaving brush with stand has been hand made in my shop as well. It was progressively sanded down and then finished with several coats of sprayed on lacquer.
This Hand turned shaving brush with stand would make an excellent gift for the man that likes to shave the old fashioned way or it makes a great decoration piece for the bathroom.
